An ‘exceptional’ home care provider has been described as ’10 out of 10’ and graded as outstanding for the second time in its latest glowing CQC report.
Inspectors noted the ‘exceptional outcomes’ and ‘deeply compassionate approach to care’ offered by Libertatem Healthcare Group, which is one of the UK’s leading providers of complex home-based healthcare.
Libertatem supports adults and children with a wide range of complex care needs including acquired brain or spinal injuries to live in their own homes across the UK.
It was found to be ‘outstanding’ by care regulator the CQC for the second inspection in a row with inspectors particularly noting Libertatem’s ‘culture of kindness and empowerment’ and its approach to innovative practices in their glowing report.
There was praise too from the organisation’s clients and their families who were ‘overwhelmingly positive about the quality of their care.’ One family comment included ‘They are absolutely 10 out of 10,’while another said: “They are more than just staff. They treat us like family”.
Another comment included, “The staff are exceptional. The company on the whole is.”
And in their report, inspectors said: “People consistently told us they felt listened to and respected. A relative told us, “It is not just support and companionship, there is a totally different dynamic with them. They just understand my relative’s needs.”
The person went on to explain to inspectors how the staff ensured they assessed the person each day, to make sure they were promoting their independence and choice, and not just assuming they could not complete tasks for themselves. This approach, they said, ‘empowered people and promoted autonomy and dignity’.
They concluded that the care provided by Libertatem’s team meant people could ‘live independently in their homes and feel safe and secure.’
Libertatem, inspectors added, was ‘exceptional at treating people with kindness, empathy and compassion’.
John Lee, Chief Executive Officer at Libertatem, said: “I am incredibly proud to lead this organisation. Our colleagues right across Libertatem show great commitment and compassion and they should be rightly proud of this, our second outstanding rating in a row. We will continue to strive to continue to go beyond outstanding and provide the very best care possible.”
